Sponsored frames provides KOLs with an opportunity to monetize their work by bringing paid messaging from sponsors to the KOL's audience. Unlike traditional ads, KOLs are in complete control of the entire process: they can choose which sponsors they want to promote and how often they promote.
The first step is to open the Sponsored Frame from the PTAL Farcaster profile page () and click on the "Start Earning" button. This will automatically register you as a publisher.
After registering, you will receive an unique sponsored frame URL that they can use to show sponsored messages. How many times the sponsored messages gets viewed will determine how much you earn.
The management console is a frame you can use to manage your sponsored frames. Here you can:
Choose which sponsors to work with
Cast the sponsored frame into your feed
Review the PTAL documentation
Here, you'll see the list of sponsors you can work with and the banners that'll appear in your frame. Below is a screen shot with some demo sponsors.
Banners with a blue outline are sponsor banners that are already linked with your frame
Banners without blue outlines are banners that you can put into your frame
To collaborate with a sponsor, simply click on the banner. You'll see a success message pop up and the banner will turn blue.
Sponsored messages are paid out based on the number of viewers for a particular message. The more often a sponsored frame is seen by users, the more money it'll make.
Since Farcaster has a feeds system, once a sponsored frame is cast, it'll be seen by any user that visit your profile or the channel that the frame is cast in.
The frame will also show different ads to different users, so you don't have to cast each time you work with a new sponsor. This is designed to maximize the earning potential for KOLs while minimalizing the amount of spam casting.
Once registered, the KOL can choose which sponsors they want to work with by clicking on the "Sponsors" button in the Management Console. The website is also accessible directly at:
